Version 1.3.3 Released!

Main changes in this version:
  • Updated DiggysMobs to 1.3.0 (was 1.2.9b); Various code enhancements and tweaks, a few changes in preparation for future mobs.
As always you can find full details in the Changelog on Technic Platform.

One change that I know a few players will find useful is that the Ectoplasm Block now causes movement slowdown as well as weakness, making for much better mob traps!

Just to confirm, this update to DiggysMobs doesn't add any new mobs but does include changes to make adding upcoming ones a lot easier!

Enjoy!

Rank Changes - Architect

The Architect rank has been retired.

Instead players assisting with building projects in Diggybrines realm will simply have [A] in front of their name similar to how staff players who are also VIPs have [V]. This will allow players to keep all their rank specific perks whilst also having additional permissions in their designated areas of the adventure world.

Enjoy!

Player Feedback - Passive Mobs & Advertising

I've received a lot of feedback asking for more passive mobs to be added  to my DiggysMobs mod so I just wanted to let everyone know that the next version (which I've been working on for a while already) will be mainly adding passive mobs, in fact I only have plans to add two more aggressive mobs in total before focussing entirely on passive ones.

Mobs with custom models and animations take a lot of work and so progress is slow, I'm also revising for my final university exam and working on a massive project for my final paper which means that I won't have a lot of time to spend on things from now until mid-June, I hope to get at least a couple of the new mobs in the game before then though!

A few players have asked when I intend to start properly advertising the server so that player numbers increase. I know it's frustrating that we only have a small number of players at the moment which makes trade etc very limited but we think it's best that we only start advertising once I can put more time into being active on the server and helping new players that join. As soon as my exam is behind me I promise I will start advertising and do everything I can to increase player numbers, in the mean time please do encourage any friends you have that also play Minecraft to give the server a go and help out any new players you see online, thanks!

Bug Fixed - Parachute + Flight

The following bug has been removed from the 'Bugs' page as it is no longer an issue:
  • Parachute mod + /fly or flight - Opening a parachute whilst flying can cause the player to glitch and 'get stuck', this is a client side glitch and can be fixed by disconnecting and reconnecting.
Due to the way flying now works (using a potion effect) this is no longer an issue, you can switch between flying using a Flight Stone and using a parachute without problems.

Players In Vanish

I've had messages from a couple of people regarding vanish, specifically to let me know that other players are assuming it is me online when they see that a player is online but vanished.

As many of you already know several other people have vanish, not just myself, this includes Moderators (currently just freaksdesign), Admins (Tatankore & DigginChickin) and a couple of fellow developers that prefer to play vanished so they can go unnoticed (these players are also not tracked by Ontime etc).

Myself and Tatankore also carry out some maintenance which spams chat so even if we are one of the vanished players online we may not be able to see questions etc in chat.

I just wanted to clear this up as from what I've seen in the logs a couple of players have got quite frustrated thinking I'm just not answering them when in fact it's not me online!

If you need help etc and a vanished player is online then just open a support ticket as usual, if the vanished person can deal with it then they will as soon as possible.

Travelling Between Worlds - Big Changes

As some of you know we've been making some pretty big changes to the way players travel between worlds over the last 24 hours, the changes are designed to make travelling between worlds much faster and simpler as well as accommodating the Flight Beacon currently being trialled in Vault World, which it its hoped will be player placeable in Veteran World in the not so distant future.

Here's some details of the changes;
  • The most obvious change is that the Warp Zone has been replaced by the Portal Zone, the warp signs are gone and in their place is a selection of colourful portals! In fact, the whole area has been rebuilt from scratch.

  • You no longer need to do /spawn and walk back to the area again, with the exception of Diggybrine's Realm all the worlds now have return portals, so getting back to the Portal Zone is as simple as stepping back through a portal! We do have plans to use portals in Diggybrines Realm as well but this will take a little longer to get set up.

  • The spawn of the main World now has portals both to the Spawn World spawn and directly to the Portal Zone, this will make it a lot easier for players to get around. Combined with using /mvs to get to the world spawn the portals can get you from one world to another much faster in most cases.

  • Teleport commands, including /tpa, /back, /home etc no longer allow travel between the main World and Veteran World, as well as between Vault World and both the main World and Veteran World. To travel between these worlds you need to use the portals or go via /spawn, so for example if you are at your home in Veteran World and want to get to you home in the main World the fastest way would be to do /spawn and then /home.

The reason for the last change is to accommodate switching between worlds where either the Flight Stone of Flight Beacon is enabled and is necessary to prevent the different methods of flight from clashing. With backpacks now allowing vast amounts of items to be carried between worlds not being able to switch between your home and vault using back etc shouldn't really loose you any time.

Remember, if you travel to a world where flight is disabled, either by teleport commands or via portals you will loose any flight time you have remaining.

A new version of our BDcraft texture pack has been released, version 1.1.5.

Changes:

This small update includes 8 new textures for the upcoming DiggysStuff update.

What To Do With Your Extra Skill Orbs

As several people already I noticed I have added a new little store in the spawn village of Diggybrines Realm, just behind William Diggmeister's place...

In this little store you can trade any extra skill orbs you don't want for a Bottle 'O Enchanting or two, obviously for the rarer skill orbs you may want to hang on to them and trade with other players but especially for the more common ones I figured it wouldn't be long until players ended up with more than they needed to reach the maximum levels!

Enjoy!

Version 1.3.1 Released!

Main changes in this version:
  • As promised the block break speed of Tinkers Construct Hammers/Excavators has been increased and has gone up from 150% to 200% the speed of an equivalent pickaxe/shovel (see information on version 1.3.0 for more information).
  • New mod added MoreEnchants.
MoreEnchants adds 22 new enchantments to the game, which are fully compatible with enchantment tables and tools from other mods.

The enchantments are aimed at enhancing vanilla Minecraft and so fit very well with the pack;
  • Poison (I): (Bows) Arrows cause a short but powerful poison effect on the target.
  • Frost (I): (Bows) Arrows cause a slowness effect on the target.
  • Explosive (I): (Bows) Arrows cause explosions when hitting the target or ground.
  • Venom (I-II): (Swords) Melee attacks cause the victim to be poisoned, with level II being much more toxic.
  • Ice Aspect (I-II): (Swords) Melee attacks cause the victim to be slowed and cause Mining Fatigue.
  • Defusing (I-V): (Swords) Increases damage dealt to Creepers.
  • Disjunction (I-V): (Swords) Increases damage dealt to Endermen.
  • Dowsing (I-V): (Swords) Increases damage dealt to Blazes and Magma Cubes.
  • Mending (I-II): (Swords & Bows) Attacks cause healing to the struck target, rather than dealing damage. Combined with Poison I on a Bow, Mending also yields a beneficial regenation effect.
  • Cleave (I-III): (Axes) Attacks deal damage in an arc in front of the wielder, to friend and foe alike.
  • Leech (I): (Swords) Attacks return 10% of the damage dealt to the wielder.
  • Execution (I): (Swords) Increases damage dealt by the percentage of the victim's missing health.
  • Vorpal (I): (Swords) Increases chances for slain enemies to drop heads. Additionally, occasionally deals triple damage.
  • Poison Protection (I-IV): (Armor) Reduces damage taken from poison effects.
  • Knowledge (I): (Helmet) Increases experience gained when picking up XP Orbs.
  • Berserking (I): (Chest Plate) Damage dealt increases as health is reduced.
  • Steadfast (I): (Chest Plate) Increases knockback resistance by 75%.
  • Agility (I): (Leg Armor) Grants a chance to dodge incoming attacks, negating damage completely.
  • Mobility (I): (Leg Armor) Allows the wearer to step up 1 block tall inclines.
  • Fleetfooted (I): (Boots) Increases movement speed.
  • Harvest (I): (Tools) Adds a unique effect when using the enchanted Pick, Axe, or Hoe.
  • Resurrection (I): (Books) A book enchanted with Resurrection will protect its holder from incoming deadly damage, destroying itself in the process.
Enjoy!
