New Technic Launcher & Site

I have tweaked the images a little as the layout changed slightly in the last update, I have also made some changes on the Technic site to better suit the new style.

You also may have noticed that the new site has new features such as the ability to 'Like' a modpack, using these features will really help boost us up the 'popular packs' list etc and attract new players so please do use them if you can!

New Technic Launcher

Just to let you all know that I am currently working on the new icons etc for the new version of the Technic Launcher, they should be ready very soon!

The download link on the 'About' page has already been updated to the new format.

Update 20:45 - All done! If you can't see the new icon etc then just delete the 'diggyverse' folder located in: /.technic/assets/packs/ to reset them.

Santa Is Coming To DiggyVerse...

Well ok so it's not really Santa, it's me, but don't forget to check
your inventories on Christmas day for a special gift or two!

Gifts will be delivered sometime after midnight UK time!

Let It Snow!

Spawn just got some Christmas spirit!

At least 3 players per day have received the Christmas Countdown prize,
the final prize will be given on 25th December so good luck if you
haven't managed to get one yet!

Saturday 20 December 2014

Merry... Chistmas?

Did you spot the typo?

Yep, the guy who created the Damage Indicators mod misspelled Christmas in the hidden Christmas feature, oops!

Somehow I completely missed this until yesterday, lol

Sunday 14 December 2014

Christmas Countdown Change!

From today all online players will receive the Christmas Countdown prize!

Will you get lucky and be on the server when the prize is given?

Friday 12 December 2014

Christmas Countdown!

It's just 12 days until Christmas and to celebrate we will be giving a special surprise to one lucky player every day for the next 12 days!

The surprise will be given at a random time every day, with the prize getting bigger each time, will you get lucky?

Wednesday 10 December 2014

I've put together a feedback form for the modpack/server as it's now been over a month since its launch.

As most of you are aware I haven't really advertised the server yet so player numbers are still very low, this is your last chance to provide feedback before the launch of the new Technic launcher and website, when that launches I'll start actively advertising the server and hopefully we'll attract a lot of new players.

So, here's the form:

I've kept it fairly short so that it won't take long to complete but you can also provide as much additional feedback as you want in the final text box (which is optional).

The form will be available for two weeks, so that's until 24th December.

I look forward to seeing what you guys think of DiggyVerse so far and reading your suggestions!

HMS Creeper MKII

Some of you will remember my ship from the Tekkit Classic server,
I never did finish the inside so I decided to build HMS Creeper MKII!

The outside is pretty much done already...

...and just like the first one it has a ton of space inside... I just need to figure out what to do with all the rooms...

...this is where Bibliocraft etc come in handy!

New Railway Blocks!

I have finished testing and enabled the functions of the new
blocks I added earlier today... Railway Blocks!

I wanted to add some extra features for rails but without adding
a huge and overcomplicated mod so by combining a plugin
with my DiggysStuff mod I have added 8 'Railway Blocks'.

Want to find out what they can do?
Head to the Player Help building at spawn for info and a demo!

Version 1.1.2 Released

This update is mainly to update NotEnoughItems and CodeChickinCore to the latest versions, I've also updated DiggysStuff to the latest version.

The latest version of DiggysStuff adds several new blocks which are still being tested, all being well I'll give more details and add them to NotEnoughItems later today (this won't require another update, just a server restart).

I have also hidden the casino blocks from NotEnoughItems as they aren't craftable or available to players.

This update is required to connect to the server.

Wednesday 26 November 2014

Texture Pack Version 1.0.6 Released!

This version contains textures for 8 new blocks which will be added in the next update as well as a couple of minor tweaks, I would recommend updating sooner rather than later so you have the new textures ready to go when the modpack is updated.

You can download it from the usual place, here's a link for convenience:

freakdesign noticed I was AFK whilst making changes to the
Player Help building and decided to get a quick selfie...

I really should stop going AFK in the middle of spawn, lol

Remember we pay $250 for every screenshot we use,
it's always fun to see what you guys/gals are up to!

Even More New Server Features!

The Player Help building at Spawn has almost doubled in size and now contains even more helpful information and tips, including the new features added this week.

You will also find examples of some exciting new features which are easier to show by example than explain here, including Advanced Doors, Gates & Bridges which can really add something special to your builds. Want a castle with a working drawbridge? That is now possible by combining an Advanced Door & Bridge!

I also still have another new feature set in the works which should be ready within a couple of days, watch this space!

Hosting Company Updates / Maintenance

The server is currently down for server maintenance, including a management interface update, it is expected to be back up and available within an hour.

Update - 12:45: The updates and maintenance are complete and I've also taken a full backup, the server is back up and whitelist removed!

Sunday 23 November 2014

More New Server Features!

I've enabled a couple more new features on the server today:

Sneak and right-click a vanilla bookcase for one of over 100 random quotes!

You can now copy and edit signs!
  1. Copy the text from a sign by right-clicking it with an ink sac.
  2. Use the /sign command to edit the text: /sign edit [line] [new text]
  3. Paste the text onto a sign by left-clicking it with an ink sac.
This feature fully supports the use of formatting codes!

Hidden Switches:

You can now activate a hidden lever by clicking a block!

Place a sign with [X] on the second line on the back of a block, then put a lever underneath the sign, right-clicking any other side of that block will then toggle the lever on and off!

Even more awesome features coming soon, I will also be adding an extra room to the Player Help building with a guide for many of these new features!

Saturday 22 November 2014

New Server Features!

I've enabled a few new features on the server today, including:

Wooden Boats:

They are 'uncrashable' and are not destroyed when they bump into things.
They return to your inventory when you dismount them.
They can no longer be placed on land.

Right-clicking a placed piece of redstone with another piece of redstone will act as an Ammeter and tell you the strength of the redstone signal (1-15) to help you work out when a repeater is needed etc.

Right-clicking any block with a piece of glowstone dust will tell you the light level of the block (1-15), green means safe, red means the light level is low enough for mobs to spawn.

More awesome features coming soon!

Version 1.1.1 Released

This version contains a re-upgrade of Carpenters Blocks. You may remember that version 3.x had issues back in DiggyVerse 1.0.5 (as reported by basebuildhelper) and so we had to downgrade to version 2.x, well the mod author released a fixed version which has enabled me to re upgrade to 3.x! This brings back the carpenters tile as well as various behind the scenes improvements, the number of carpenters chisel designs has also been increased from 9 to 33 giving much more choice.

This version also includes some tweaks to rebalance Infernal Mobs (including a reduced chance of mobs being infernal), Enchanting Plus and GrowthCraft. I've also disabled apples naturally falling from GrowthCraft trees as it could produce a lot of drops.

For more information see the Changelog on the Technic Page.

Note: 1.1.1a released to correct some language file entries.

Texture Pack Version 1.0.5 Released

I've released an updated version of the texture pack patch, it includes a total of around 50 changes relating to Chisel and Carpenters Blocks.

Even though most changes will not affect anything until I release the next modpack update you can use it for the current version, so you can update it early if you want.

Our first DiggyVerse selfie has been submitted...

Referral Rewards!

You now get rewarded for referring players to the server!

How it works...
  1. Introduce a new player to the server and get them to run: /referred by [your name]
  2. You both get a notification that the referral has been accepted.
  3. After the player you referred has a total play time of 16 hours rewards are scheduled.
  4. You get a reward of $1000 and the player you referred gets a reward of $500!
Players can only use the command once but you can refer an unlimited number of players, remember to take care with the spelling of the referring players name!

Sunday 9 November 2014

Version 1.1.0 Released

This version fixes two dupe bugs, the clay dupe reported by freaksdesign and the glass dupe reported by DigginChickin. It also includes an updated version of my DiggysStuff mod, which has a few general code improvements. For details see the Technic Platform changelog.

Server Down - I'll Update When I Know More

It appears that the server has developed a serious bug relating to multiworld features, it appears to be some kind of clash between bukkit (plugins) and forge (mods) which only occurs when several players are in different worlds, hence it was not noticed during testing.

Unfortunately this is a very severe bug and as a result I have had to take the server down, I honestly have no idea how long this will take to resolve but I will update here when I know more.

I am currently taking a backup of the worlds etc so nothing will be lost even if I have to completely reinstall the server using a different version of bukkit etc, obviously though if it comes to that it could be some time before the server is back up.

Watch this space!

Update 12:00: I decided to upgrade the server side software, I have completed the upgrade and the world data etc is currently restoring but as it will be very late here when it completes (probably around 1:30am) I will be leaving the server down over night and testing things in the morning. I will post another update once I've run some tests and checked things over but I will not be able to recreate the issues we were having without other players online so intend to open the server asap.

Update 11:00 (9/11/2014): The server is back up and the whitelist is turned off!
I've switched back to multiverse but we are now using an unreleased development version which tries to compensate for the issue we experienced, I have also reinstalled the server software and upgraded to the latest 'stable' version of Cauldron (forge/bukkit) available. Obviously I won't know if the problem has been resolved until we get more people on and have a few players entering and leaving different world types (world, nether & end) at the same time. Please report any issues involving crashes when entering The End and The Nether asap if they do occur.

Investigating Multiverse Issue

We're having a weird issue with Multiverse this morning, The End will be unavailable temporarily while I investigate.

Update: I ended up switching to a different plugin but all is back to normal now!

Friday 7 November 2014

BDcraft Texture Pack Approved!

Our texture pack patch has been approved by a BDcraft moderator and is now available for download!

Here is the official forum thread:

See the 'About' page for details on how to merge it with the Sphax vanilla textures etc!

Note to testers: This version has several changes and improvements over the testing version.

Whitelist Removed!

The whitelist has been removed and the download links have been added!

Please note: The official BDcraft 64x texture pack will be launched and a download link added as soon as the forum thread is approved by a moderator!

All players will start at the Explorer rank and with a standard starter kit.

Players who are Member rank or above can request an early promotion and the transfer of up to $25,000 from their Tekkit Classic balance by opening a modreq. Bear in mind that it will take time to process these requests and that this will be done on a first come first served basis!

Existing VIP and Donator players can also request that rank, however it will expire on 16th January 2015 when the DiggyVerse donation based ranks become generally available. Unlike the current Tekkit Classic ones DiggyVerse donation based ranks will be lifetime rather than just for a year and will also give access to VeteranWorld!

Have fun!

Down For Pre-Launch Backup!

The server is currently down for a pre-launch backup, everything will be back up and running within an hour to launch at 4 pm as scheduled!

Version 1.0.9 Released

This includes the latest version of my DiggysStuff mod, with recipe tweaks based on player feedback. It also fixes an issue with UseFulFood where two food items (Cactus Juice and Squid Sushi) didn't show up in NEI (reported by Tatankore). For details see the Technic Platform changelog.

*Note: Some players experienced a corruption after downloading 1.0.9, 1.0.9a has been released to provide an easy way for players to fix this issue. To check for the issue look at 'pokefennium' in NEI, if the textures look normal then you do not need the 1.0.9a update, although obviously you can still update if you want to.

Final Tests

Note to testers: The server will be restarting a lot this morning and may be down for short periods while I double check everything and clear out logs etc, I will update here when I'm all done!

Thursday 6 November 2014

Version 1.0.8 Released

This update is mainly just a clean-up and tweak before the official launch, it also includes two fairly minor mod upgrades and fixes a console error that was bugging me, for details see the Technic Platform changelog.

Wednesday 5 November 2014

Version 1.0.7 Released

Yep, that's two new versions in one day!

I updated several mods in 1.0.5 and for the most part these have all been problem free but I noticed an issue with Carpenters Blocks where a certain item could be almost impossible to remove under certain circumstances, then this afternoon basebildhelper found another issue.

I have notified the mod author and their might be a fixed version in the next few weeks but I decided that for now the best thing to do was downgrade to a more stable version. However it is still a newer version than we had prior to 1.0.5, 2.1.2 rather than 2.0.8. I have tested for the bugs we found and they are definitely not present in this version.

It was also pointed out by basbuilderhelper that Ferment Barrels could not be protected by Lockette but that this would be useful, so I had a look into it and have updated the Lockette config to allow protection of the Ferment Barrel, Fruit Press, Bee Box and Brewing Kettle from GrowthCraft.

Version 1.0.6 Released

You will need to update before connecting the server, this version fixes the Tinkers Construct bug found by freaksdesign (paper binding recipe makes blue slime binding instead) and reduces the health modifier of Infernal Mobs by 20% for better balance.

I have also added a 'Bugs' page to the website detailing known bugs in the modpack. Like any modpack we are bound to have a few little oddities, after all it is a collection of code from more than 50 different individuals!

Regenerating Mines

Areas that regenerate after a set time will be a major feature of
Diggybrines Realm and the first on is complete...

Creepy Creepers Mine contains an ore rich mine which includes

Scheduled Downtime:
Date: 01/11/14
Started:  10:00 pm (UK)
Finished:  10:55 pm (UK)

Note: This update will also require changes to the official 64x texture pack, the main changes are now included with a few less important changes still being worked on.

The server is now back up!

Your client must be updated to 1.0.5 in order to connect to the server!

Scheduled Downtime

There will be a scheduled downtime later as follows:
  1. Full backup/clone.
  2. Test possible mod updates server-side.

Scheduled Downtime:
Date: 01/11/14
Est Start:  10:00 pm (UK)
Est Finish:  11:30 pm (UK)

Note: Sorry for the short notice and last minute change of schedule, one of the updates is quite large and adds an awesome new block/feature but it affects the id of a couple of existing items, for this reason I decided to do the update asap to minimize the risks involved in changing ids of items present in an existing world.
